Methodology of Mediumistic Practice – Sources and Verification
The methodology on iWell Guard combines scholarly sources with mediumistic information. We label every statement transparently; source work, mediumistic verification in the cosmic information field, and experience reports are clearly separated from one another.
Mediumistic Diagnostics forms the methodological foundation of the iWell Guard work. It enables access to information beyond the sensorially perceivable world and supplements scientific findings with its own, structurally reliable data layer.
Mediumistic Information and Source Labelling
This methodology combines three types of sources: scholarly texts, mediumistic information from the cosmic information field, and personal experience reports. Each of these sources is clearly marked on the detail pages; we do not mix them.
Mediumistic information refers to statements that we receive through energetic verification in the cosmic information field. They are not scientifically verified but are part of their own line of insight.
The source labelling on each detail page shows where a statement comes from: scholarly (Burkert, Toynbee, etc.), mediumistic (verification in the cosmic information field), or based on experience.
Introduction
This page explains how we, on iwell-guard.com, handle two particular sources of information: verification in the cosmic information field and mediumistic information from the spiritual world.
Both are important for our work, both are explicitly not scientifically provable, and both are therefore clearly marked on our pages and kept separate from the historical and religious-studies sources.
The reason for this separation is simple: we do not wish to mislead our readers. Anyone seeking information here should be able to recognise at a glance on which basis of knowledge a statement rests.
What we mean by "Cosmic Information Field"
In the understanding of the spiritual tradition in which this website stands, the cosmic information field is the actual reality. Our material universe is, in this view, regarded as a reflection of a deeper data layer within consciousness.
Beings, energies, and processes that are “present and effective” there can have effects in material life, even if they cannot be measured physically.
This is not a physical thesis and not a scientific claim. It is the inside perspective of a tradition that has been developed in Theosophy, Anthroposophy, New Age, and light-work.
Whether this perspective accurately describes reality is something each person can answer for themselves. We render it without disguise, neither proving nor doubting it.
Religious-Historical Tradition of Mediumistic Practice
Mediumistic methods, that is, the work with channels of perception beyond the five senses, are not a nineteenth-century invention in terms of religious history; they have predecessors in Jewish Merkabah mysticism (Hekhalot literature, 3rd to 7th centuries), in Christian visionary literature (Hildegard of Bingen, 12th century; Mechthild of Magdeburg, 13th century; Teresa of Ávila, 16th century), in Islamic Sufi mysticism (al-Ghazali, Ibn Arabi), and in the shamanic traditions of practically all indigenous religions.
Modern Spiritism since Allan Kardec (Le Livre des Esprits, 1857) has systematised these methods and placed them within an anthropological framework; Theosophy (Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, from 1875) and Anthroposophy (Rudolf Steiner, from 1900) have integrated them into the European educational discourse.
Academic religious studies has deliberately left open the question of whether mediumistic methods disclose reality or yield projections, and has concentrated on phenomenological and social-historical description (Mircea Eliade, Shamanism, 1951; Ioan Couliano, Out of this World, 1991; Jeffrey Kripal, Authors of the Impossible, 2010).
This position is also ours: we render mediumistic information transparently, without making any claim to truth or falsehood.
Verification in the cosmic information field
3.1 What is it?
Verification in the cosmic information field is a binary resonance check: we ask whether a particular being, practice, or energy is present and effective in the cosmic information field.
The result is a classification into one of five levels (see 3.2). This verification is methodologically clearly delimited: it answers a yes/no or tendency question, not a question of content.
3.2 Permissible Result Levels
A verification result has exactly one of these six values:
- not yet verified: the initial state for all newly created pages
- present and effective: the being or practice has been clearly encountered in the cosmic information field
- tendentially present: the verification indicates presence, without unambiguous resonance
- tendentially not present: the verification indicates absence, without final clarification
- not present: clearly not encountered in the cosmic information field
- not verifiable: the question could not be clarified with the method applied (e.g. too unspecific, too unclear, external disturbance)
3.3 Procedure
A verification is carried out by a medium experienced in working with the cosmic information field. The customary methods are mediumistic resonance verification, tensor or pendulum questioning, and card reading.
The method used, the medium (by name or anonymised), the date, and the approximate duration are documented: visibly on the respective detail page and additionally in a central history.
Multiple verifications of the same being by different mediums are each recorded individually. Discrepancies remain visible. We do not smooth them out to conceal contradictions.
3.4 What the verification is not
- Not a scientific proof of the existence of the verified being.
- Not a substitute for medical, psychological, or legal advice.
- Not a prognosis of individual experiences or effects.
- Not a statement about the moral or spiritual quality of the being.
Methodological Tools in Detail
Resonance verification in the cosmic information field works with three established tools that have been documented in mediumistic practice since the nineteenth century.
Pendulum questioning (radiesthesia) was systematically developed by Abbé Alexis Bouly, Jules Regnault, and Abbé Alexis Mermet in the 1920s and 1930s; Christopher Bird (Divining Hand, 1979) has surveyed the history of research.
The tensor (or Bovis tensor, after André Bovis) is a variant of the pendulum with a different lever mechanism. Kinesiological self-testing works with the reaction of one’s own muscle tension to the questions asked, and was introduced by George Goodheart (1964).
All three methods function via the ideomotor effect: the medium’s hand reacts to subconscious resonance signals with minimal muscle movements, which the tool amplifies.
Whether this resonance reflects only a projection of the subconscious or a contact with a real information layer cannot be conclusively decided methodologically. We understand the result as an indication, not as a proof, and treat it accordingly.
Mediumistic Information from the Spiritual World
4.1 What is it?
Whereas verification in the cosmic information field answers only a binary resonance question, mediumistic information contains substantive statements about a being, an energy, or a process.
These statements come from channellings, trance sessions, visionary experiences, or other forms of mediumistic work. They can supplement specific aspects, give concrete shape to characteristics, or illuminate contexts that do not appear in the historical sources.
4.2 How can you recognise mediumistic information on our pages?
Mediumistic information appears on every detail page in its own clearly demarcated section (background: light lilac) with the label “Mediumistic Information”. Below it are the medium (or an anonymised reference), date, and method. At the end of each such section you will find the disclaimer sentence and a link to this methodology page.
4.3 What mediumistic information is not
- Not scientifically verifiable facts.
- Not religious dogmas.
- Not instructions for concrete action in health, financial, or legal matters.
- Not revelations with universal claim to validity.
It is an additional perspective that we provide because it is relevant for the work in the light-being and iWell Guard tradition.
Mediumistic Information and Academic Secondary Literature
The academic engagement with mediumistic information is broader than the usual polemic suggests. Wouter Hanegraaff has provided the religious-studies framing of the mediumistic tradition in New Age Religion and Western Culture (1996) and Esotericism and the Academy (2012).
Egil Asprem (Arguing with Angels, 2012) has examined the Enochian tradition of John Dee with the means of modern religious research. Jeffrey Kripal (Mutants and Mystics, 2011) connects mediumistic experience with the religious history of American popular culture.
We orient ourselves on this tradition: mediumistic information is its own class of source, which we label transparently, keep alongside the historical, religious-studies, and scientific sources, and do not elevate to an absolute source of truth.

Why We Do This
Our website serves an audience that holds paranormal phenomena to be possible. You do not need us to learn that mediumistic statements are of a different kind than Wikipedia articles. You know this anyway.
What we aim to provide is clarity in presentation: anyone reading our pages should know at every moment on what ground they stand. Historical sources are historical sources. Religious-studies assessments are marked as such. Esoteric inside perspectives are inside perspectives. And mediumistic verifications and information are mediumistic verifications and information.
This transparency is our protection against the accusation that we are misleading our customers. And it is your tool for keeping a clear head for yourself.
Four Basic Assumptions of the iWell Technology
A prerequisite for understanding the iWell technology is a conceptual view of the universe that goes beyond the purely physical. Four basic assumptions carry the methodology:
- 1There is a guiding order in the universe.
Everything is subject to an order. Without it, chaos would reign. The existence of this order is the first prerequisite for any further consideration. - 2The guiding order works according to priorities.
Processes proceed according to their importance, not in parallel and not at random. Anyone aiming for effect must raise the priority of their concern. - 3The guiding order cannot be directly grasped with the sensory organs.
It does not lie within the purely physical realm. We call the realm in which it operates the realm of consciousness or the immaterial information field. - 4There are ways to communicate with the realm of consciousness.
Mentally, for example through meditation; technically, for example through devices such as the Kozyrev mirror. The iWell technology uses the technical route, continuously and without interruption.
From these four assumptions, the iWell technology arose in our house. It is the material and information architecture built exclusively into the iWell Guard.
