Obrazi \u0161e zdale\u010d niso vedno prijazni; mnogi srednjeve\u0161ki primeri ka\u017eejo grimase, bole\u010dino ali obraz, ki ga listje pogoltne, kar prej ka\u017ee na minljivost in opomin na gre\u0161nost kot na prijaznega spomladanskega boga. Motiv se nahaja na kapitelih, sklepnikih, korskih klopeh in portalih.<\/p><p><strong>Delovanje<\/strong><\/p><p>Kot delujo\u010de bitje se Green Man v starem izro\u010dilu ne pojavlja; ni pripovedk o sre\u010danjih, opozorilih ali kaznih. Njegov u\u010dinek je simboli\u010den: listnati obraz prikazuje prepletenost \u010dloveka in rastlinskega sveta, nastajanje in minevanje skozi letne \u010dase. \u0160ele sodobna razlaga od 20. stoletja naprej je iz njega naredila duha vegetacije;
