Americk\u00fd antropol\u00f3g William Bascom systematicky sk\u00famal v 30. a 50. rokoch Ifa ve\u0161tenie a jeho soci\u00e1lnu \u0161trukt\u00faru; jeho z\u00e1pisky patria dodnes k najd\u00f4le\u017eitej\u0161\u00edm prame\u0148om. S\u00fa\u010dasne vznikla vlastn\u00e1 yorubsk\u00e1 u\u010denos\u0165, ktor\u00e1 doplnila a korigovala poh\u013ead zvonka.<\/p><p>K\u013e\u00fa\u010dovou postavou je Wande Abimbola, s\u00e1m vy\u0161kolen\u00fd babalawo a dlhoro\u010dn\u00fd Awise Agbaye, najvy\u0161\u0161\u00ed hovorca trad\u00edcie Ifa na celom svete, ktor\u00fd zverejnil rozsiahle zbierky ver\u0161ov Ifa (ese Ifa) v jazyku Yoruba a v anglickom preklade. Medzi 16. a 19. storo\u010d\u00edm boli mili\u00f3ny \u013eud\u00ed z Yorubska a susedn\u00fdch regi\u00f3nov odvle\u010den\u00e9 do Ameriky, mnoh\u00ed z nich si so sebou prinesli kult Ori\u0161ov, ve\u0161tenie Ifa a uctievanie Egungun.<\/p><p>Pod n\u00e1tlakom katol\u00edckeho koloni\u00e1lneho poriadku na Kube, v Braz\u00edlii a \u010fal\u0161\u00edch regi\u00f3noch bolo otvoren\u00e9 vykon\u00e1vanie africk\u00fdch n\u00e1bo\u017eenstiev \u010dasto zak\u00e1zan\u00e9. Zotro\u010den\u00ed preto svoje Ori\u0161ov navonok spojili s katol\u00edckymi sv\u00e4tcami, napr\u00edklad Yemoju s Pannou z Regla, Oshun s Virgen de la Caridad, Shanga so sv\u00e4tou Barborou. Tak vznikla Santer\u00eda (Regla de Ocha) na Kube, Candombl\u00e9 v Braz\u00edlii a pr\u00edbuzn\u00e9 trad\u00edcie v Trinidade a \u010fal\u0161\u00edch regi\u00f3noch.<\/p><p>V samotnom Yorubsku sa v 19. storo\u010d\u00ed za\u010dala intenz\u00edvna kres\u0165ansk\u00e1 a islamsk\u00e1 misia, podporovan\u00e1 britskou koloni\u00e1lnou spr\u00e1vou a jej \u0161kolsk\u00fdm syst\u00e9mom. Uctievanie Ori\u0161ov bolo na mnoh\u00fdch miestach potla\u010den\u00e9, ale zostalo, \u010dasto paralelne s kres\u0165anstvom alebo islamom, zachovan\u00e9 v rodinn\u00fdch a miestnych kultoch.<\/p><p>V 20. storo\u010d\u00ed prispeli nig\u00e9rijsk\u00ed u\u010denci, predov\u0161etk\u00fdm Wande Abimbola, k vedeck\u00e9mu a kult\u00farnemu povzneseniu trad\u00edcie Ifa, okrem in\u00e9ho medzin\u00e1rodn\u00fdm uznan\u00edm ako nehmotn\u00e9 kult\u00farne dedi\u010dstvo UNESCO v roku 2005.<\/p><p>V americkej diasp\u00f3re vyr\u00e1stli Santer\u00eda a Candombl\u00e9 v 20. a 21. storo\u010d\u00ed na samostatn\u00e9 n\u00e1bo\u017eenstv\u00e1 akt\u00edvne praktizovan\u00e9 na Kube, v Braz\u00edlii, USA a \u010fal\u0161\u00edch krajin\u00e1ch s pravdepodobne nieko\u013ek\u00fdmi mili\u00f3nmi st\u00fapencov.<\/p><p>O z\u00e1niku n\u00e1bo\u017eenstva Ori\u0161ov teda nem\u00f4\u017ee by\u0165 re\u010d.
