Je etrusk\u00fdm protikladom r\u00edmskeho Jupitera a gr\u00e9ckeho Zeusa, s vlastn\u00fdmi charakteristick\u00fdmi znakmi. Tento \u010dl\u00e1nok popisuje jeho religionistick\u00e9 postavenie v etruskom <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"S\u00fahrn v\u0161etk\u00fdch bohov ur\u010dit\u00e9ho Bezpe\u010dn\u00e1 etymologick\u00e1 interpret\u00e1cia mena nebola rekon\u0161truovan\u00e1.<\/p><p><span data-nosnippet>N\u00e1vrhy etymol\u00f3gie sa pohybuj\u00fa od v\u00fdrazu &#8218;de\u0148&#8216; (z etrusk\u00e9ho *tin) a\u017e po &#8218;vrchol, hrot&#8216;. Helmut Rix zhroma\u017edil cel\u00fd epigrafick\u00fd materi\u00e1l v diele <em>Etruscan Texts: Editio Minor<\/em> (1991). Tinia je okrem formy Tin dosved\u010den\u00fd aj pod pr\u00edvlastkami Tinia Calusna (&#8218;Tinia podzemsk\u00e9ho nebo&#8216;), Tinia Sosnial a Tinia Thufltha, ka\u017ed\u00fd s vlastn\u00fdmi, \u0161pecifick\u00fdmi funkciami.<\/span><\/p><p>Etrusk\u00fd jazyk stoj\u00ed jazykovo osamote; ned\u00e1 sa zaradi\u0165 do \u017eiadnej potvrdenej jazykovej rodiny. Pod\u013ea jednej z hypot\u00e9z patr\u00ed do tzv. tyrsenskej skupiny, do ktorej by mohli patri\u0165 aj lemnsk\u00fd a r\u00e9tsky jazyk.<\/p><p>Na de\u0161ifrovan\u00ed textov sa pracuje u\u017e od 19. storo\u010dia, definit\u00edvne uzavretie tejto pr\u00e1ce v\u0161ak st\u00e1le ch\u00fdba, \u010do sa t\u00fdka aj v\u00fdkladu teonymov, ako je Tinia.<\/p><p>Z\u00e1kladn\u00fdm epigrafick\u00fdm dielom je Editio Minor Helmuta Rixa, v ktorom je zhroma\u017eden\u00fd etrusk\u00fd jazykov\u00fd korpus a v ktorom je zdokumentovan\u00e9 aj meno Tinia.
