As esp\u00e9cies de folhas mais frequentes s\u00e3o o carvalho, a folha de vinha e o acanto. Os rostos nem sempre t\u00eam uma apar\u00eancia amig\u00e1vel; muitos exemplares medievais mostram caretas, sofrimento ou o estar envolto na folhagem, o que sugere mais uma advert\u00eancia sobre a transitoriedade e o pecado do que um deus da primavera bondoso.
