tradi\u00e7\u00e3o documenta as suas narrativas com maior densidade. Est\u00e1 emparelhada com o deus lunar Bahloo e integrada numa fam\u00edlia c\u00f3smica com o deus supremo <a href=\"\/pt-br\/baiame\/\">Baiame<\/a>.<\/p><p>Do ponto de vista da fenomenologia da religi\u00e3o, Yhi \u00e9 particularmente interessante por ser um dos raros seres supremos explicitamente femininos das religi\u00f5es abor\u00edgenes da Austr\u00e1lia. Na maioria das tradi\u00e7\u00f5es abor\u00edgenes, as figuras religiosas supremas s\u00e3o masculinas (&#8220;All-Fathers&#8221;); Yhi constitui aqui uma exce\u00e7\u00e3o proeminente.<\/p><p>No \u00e2mbito da <a href=\"\/pt-br\/aboriginal\/\">tradi\u00e7\u00e3o abor\u00edgene<\/a> desempenha uma fun\u00e7\u00e3o cosmog\u00f4nica: desperta a vida com o seu primeiro amanhecer. A etimologia exata \u00e9 controversa; uma deriva\u00e7\u00e3o tradicional associa a palavra ao significado de &#8220;brilho, luz&#8221;, o que se adequa \u00e0 sua fun\u00e7\u00e3o solar.<\/p><p>K. Langloh Parker, que documentou a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o Karraur no final do s\u00e9culo XIX, normalizou o nome em <em>Australian Legendary Tales<\/em> (1896) e em <em>More Australian Legendary Tales<\/em> (1898) como <em>Yhi<\/em>. A sua grafia acabou por se impor.<\/p><p>Em algumas l\u00ednguas vizinhas, o sol tem outra designa\u00e7\u00e3o: <em>Wuriupranili<\/em> na tradi\u00e7\u00e3o Tiwi (um sol feminino que percorre o c\u00e9u com uma tocha), <em>Walu<\/em> na tradi\u00e7\u00e3o Yolngu. Onde pousou o p\u00e9 surgiram plantas, \u00e1rvores e flores; onde expirou o seu sopro surgiram animais; onde por \u00faltimo se demorou surgiram os primeiros seres humanos.<\/p><p>Ao contr\u00e1rio de muitas outras tradi\u00e7\u00f5es abor\u00edgenes, n\u00e3o existe uma iconografia aut\u00f4noma de Yhi. As poucas representa\u00e7\u00f5es figurativas do s\u00e9culo XIX foram majoritariamente encomendadas a ilustradores europeus (nomeadamente para os livros de Parker) e refletem mais as tradi\u00e7\u00f5es imag\u00e9ticas europeias do que as abor\u00edgenes.<\/p><p>Artistas abor\u00edgenes contempor\u00e2neos retomaram a narrativa de Yhi e procuram desenvolver uma forma imag\u00e9tica ind\u00edgena. A um assobio (em algumas vers\u00f5es emitido por <a href=\"\/pt-br\/baiame\/\">Baiame<\/a>) acordou e ascendeu.<\/p><p>Com o seu primeiro amanhecer a vida despertou: as \u00e1rvores brotaram, as flores abriram-se, os animais sa\u00edram dos seus abrigos e os primeiros seres humanos ergueram-se do ch\u00e3o.<\/p><p>Uma segunda narrativa descreve o amor de Yhi pelo deus lunar Bahloo. Bahloo \u00e9, por\u00e9m, t\u00edmido e se retira repetidamente; por isso Yhi o segue durante o dia e Bahloo apenas se mostra de noite. Este <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Uma narrativa transmitida pela tradi\u00e7\u00e3o sobre deuses, origens e a ordem do mundo.\" tabindex=\"0\">mito<\/span> etiol\u00f3gico explica o fen\u00f4meno de o sol e a lua raramente serem vis\u00edveis ao mesmo tempo.<\/p><p>K. Langloh Parker apresentou em <em>Australian Legendary Tales<\/em> (1896) e em <em>More Australian Legendary Tales<\/em> (1898) extensas cole\u00e7\u00f5es de narrativas sobre Yhi.
