Jarilo (tako\u0111er Jary\u0142o, Jarila, u ju\u017enoslavenskoj tradiciji Juraj\/Jurij) je u slavenskom <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Ukupnost bogova neke religije ili kulture.\" tabindex=\"0\">panteonu<\/span> bog prolje\u0107a, plodnosti i vegetacije koja se ponovno budi.<\/p><p>Ubraja se u bo\u017eanstva vegetacijskog tipa koja \u00abumiru i uskrsavaju\u00bb te je povezan s godi\u0161njim ciklusom smrti i ponovnog ro\u0111enja prirode.<\/p><p>Za razliku od bogova iz Vladimirove \u0161esterke, Jarilo se ne spominje poimeni\u010dno u izravnim srednjovjekovnim izvorima; njegovo se postojanje rekonstruira na temelju dobro dokumentirane isto\u010dnoslavenske i ju\u017enoslavenske narodne predaje o jarilovskim obi\u010dajima. Znanost o njemu govori s vi\u0161e suzdr\u017eanosti nego, primjerice, o Perunu ili Velesu, ali njegovu funkciju vegetacijskog boga smatra povijesno data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Ime \u00abJarilo\u00bb izvodi se iz praslavenskog \u00abjar\u044a\u00bb (\u00abprolje\u0107e, godina, \u017eestok\u00bb), povezanog s ruskim \u00abjaryj\u00bb (\u00absilovit, strastven, proljetno svijetao\u00bb), \u010de\u0161kim \u00abjarn\u00ed\u00bb (\u00abproljetni\u00bb) i srpskim \u00abjar\u00bb (\u00abproljetno polje, jaro \u017eito\u00bb). Ova etimologija Jarila jasno smje\u0161ta u domenu prolje\u0107a i vegetacije. Sufiks \u00ab-ilo\u00bb \u010dest je slavenski tvorbeni element za mu\u0161ka osobna imena i likove.<\/p>\n<p>Veza s ukrajinsko-ruskim imenom \u00abJurij\u00bb (sveti Georgije, slavenski oblik imena Georg) potaknula je u znanosti dugotrajnu raspravu.<\/p><p>Roman Jakobson i drugi lingvisti predlo\u017eili su da je slavenski kult svetog Georgija u mnogim regijama kr\u0161\u0107anski preslik predkr\u0161\u0107anskog kulta Jarila, jer se datum svetog Georgija (23. travnja po julijanskom kalendaru) poklapa s proljetnim jarilovskim obi\u010dajima. Ta je teza religijsko-povijesno uvjerljiva, ali u pojedinostima te\u0161ko dokaziva.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-890cea6 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"890cea6\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e083ddc elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e083ddc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Funkcija i mit<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2e94ccc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2e94ccc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Iz narodne predaje mogu\u0107e je rekonstruirati sljede\u0107i mit: Jarilo se javlja u prolje\u0107e, kiti zemlju cvije\u0107em i \u017eitom, vjen\u010dava se s Marom (ili Morenom, bo\u017eicom zime), ubijen je ili <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Ono \u0161to pripada utvr\u0111enom slijedu religijskih radnji.\" tabindex=\"0\">ritualno<\/span> pokopan u vrhuncu ljeta te se sljede\u0107eg prolje\u0107a vra\u0107a.<\/p><p>Vladimir Toporov i Vja\u010deslav Ivanov rekonstruirali su ovu pri\u010du u svojim strukturalisti\u010dkim radovima kao ina\u010dicu indoeuropskog \u00abboga koji umire i uskrsava\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>U ju\u017enoslavenskim \u00abjarilovskim igrama\u00bb smrt boga se <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Ono \u0161to pripada utvr\u0111enom slijedu religijskih radnji.\" tabindex=\"0\">ritualno<\/span> ponovno izvodi: lutka od slame ili mladi\u0107 koji utjelovljuje Jarila nosi se selom, a zatim se \u00abubija\u00bb (spaljivanjem, tonjenjem u rijeci ili ukopom) te se za njim tuguje.<\/p><p>Ovi obredi zabilje\u017eeni su u Srbiji, Bugarskoj, Bjelorusiji, Ukrajini i djelomi\u010dno u Rusiji sve do po\u010detka 20. stolje\u0107a. James George Frazer op\u0161irno ih je opisao u djelu \u00abThe Golden Bough\u00bb (1890. do 1915.) i uvrstio ih u svoj kompleks \u00abbogova koji umiru\u00bb.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0fcca88 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"0fcca88\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7e37f98 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7e37f98\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Kult, obi\u010daji i obredi<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ff7a495 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ff7a495\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u00abJarilin dan\u00bb (\u00abJarilo-dan\u00bb, obi\u010dno po\u010detkom svibnja ili 23. travnja po pravoslavno-julijanskom kalendaru na Jurjevdan) obilje\u017eava po\u010detak prolje\u0107a.<\/p><p>U srpskoj i hrvatskoj tradiciji mladi\u0107 oki\u0107en vijencem od \u017eita, obu\u010den u bijelo, ja\u0161e na bijelom konju kroz selo, a pratnja su mu djevojke koje pjevaju pjesme. U ukrajinskoj tradiciji rije\u010d je o mladoj \u017eeni odjevenoj u mu\u0161ku odje\u0107u koja s lutkom \u00abJarilom\u00bb od slame prolazi kroz polja.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abJarilov pogreb\u00bb (\u00abPochorony Jarila\u00bb) slavi se u Bjelorusiji i zapadnoj Rusiji oko Ivanjdana (24. lipnja): lutka od slame ili drvena figura s mu\u0161kim falusom pokapa se uz suze ili se spaljuje.<\/p><p>Time se simboli\u010dki opona\u0161a smrt vegetacijske snage. U nekim krajevima pogrebnu je povorku pratila ljubavna pjesma i opscene dosjetke, \u0161to nagla\u0161ava plodnosno-magijski karakter obreda.<\/p>\n<p>Sergej Tokarev (\u00abReligioznye verovaniya vosto\u010dnoslavjanskih narodov\u00bb, 1957.) i Vladimir Propp (\u00abRusskie agrarnye prazdniki\u00bb, 1963.) detaljno su dokumentirali te obi\u010daje i upozorili na njihove paralele s Adonis-Tamuz kompleksom i sa zapadnoslavenskim spaljivanjem Marzanne.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-29769d4 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"29769d4\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f7be2c6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f7be2c6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Ikonografija<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e6e01f1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e6e01f1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Za razliku od ve\u0107ine bogova, za Jarila ne postoje srednjovjekovni likovni prikazi.<\/p><p>Njegova <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Nauka o sadr\u017eaju slika i njihovu zna\u010denju.\" tabindex=\"0\">ikonografija<\/span> rekonstrukcija je nastala iz narodne predaje i romanti\u010darske umjetnosti 19. stolje\u0107a: mladi\u0107, \u010desto bosonog i u bijeloj ko\u0161ulji, ponekad s vijencem od klasja ili cvije\u0107a, ja\u0161e na bijelom konju, u ruci nosi sve\u017eanj klasja ili lubanju (kao <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Znak koji zastupa neku predstavu ili zna\u010denje.\" tabindex=\"0\">simbol<\/span> cikli\u010dne obnove).<\/p><p>Ovaj prikaz zgusnuti je izraz ju\u017enoslavenskih sve\u010danih obi\u010daja i nije potvr\u0111en povijesnim izvorima.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-98bb2bd e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"98bb2bd\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2f2f806 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2f2f806\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Povijesnoreligijsko uvr\u0161tavanje<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3bbe264 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3bbe264\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Jarilo pripada \u0161iroko rasprostranjenom tipu \u00abumiru\u0107eg i uskrslog boga vegetacije\u00bb. Spajanje sa svetim Jurjem (Jurij, Jaroslav) klasi\u010dan je primjer sinkretisti\u010dkog preoblikovanja: borba svetog Jurja s zmajem u mnogim slavenskim krajevima povezana je s proljetnim i vegetacijskim motivima.<\/p><p>Na \u00abJurjevdan\u00bb u Srbiji svetac se \u0161tuje kao za\u0161titnik stada i proljetnih snaga, \u0161to jasno upu\u0107uje na predkr\u0161\u0107anske slojeve.<\/p>\n<p>U ruskoj, ukrajinskoj i bjeloruskoj narodnoj tradiciji Jarilovi obi\u010daji opstali su sve do 20. stolje\u0107a, \u010desto uklopljeni u \u00abrusalne\u00bb i \u00abkupalske\u00bb svetkovine. Mary Beard i Jonathan Z. Smith pokazali su da su Frazerovi \u00abumiru\u0107i bogovi\u00bb \u010desto veoma razli\u010dito strukturirani te da naizgledna zajedni\u0161tva predstavljaju konstruiranu dubinsku kategoriju.<\/p><p>Ova kritika dotaknula je i istra\u017eivanja o Jarilu: Vladimir Propp, Mircea Eliade i noviji autori kao Ji\u0159\u00ed Dynda trudili su se zamijeniti Frazerovo tuma\u010denje kulturno-historijski diferenciranijim opisom.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1f87959 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"1f87959\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4bfb23f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4bfb23f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Jarilo, Mara i nadmetanje godi\u0161njih doba<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ac84cb2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ac84cb2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>U narodnim predajama Jarilo se redovito pojavljuje u vezi s Marom (tako\u0111er Morena, Marzanna, Marena), bo\u017eicom zime i smrti.<\/p><p>Odnos je ambivalentan: u nekim pripovijestima oboje se vjen\u010davaju u prolje\u0107e i Jarilo s Marom za\u010dinje vegetaciju nadolaze\u0107e sezone; u drugim pripovijestima Mara je njegova ubojica koja ga ubija u punom ljetu i odvodi u podzemni svijet.<\/p><p>U prolje\u0107e se, s druge strane, Mara \u00abspaljuje\u00bb ili \u00abutapa\u00bb \u2014 praksa dobro dokumentirana u zapadnoj i isto\u010dnoj Slaviji: lutka Marzanna nosi se selom na kraju zime i bacana je u rijeku ili spaljivana.<\/p>\n<p>Vladimir Toporov i Vyacheslav Ivanov u svojoj strukturalisti\u010dkoj komparativnoj <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Ukupnost predanih pripovijesti o bogovima jedne kulture.\" tabindex=\"0\">mitologiji<\/span> rekonstruirali su ovaj slo\u017eeni odnos kao sredi\u0161nji <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Predana pripovijest o bogovima, podrijetlu i poretku svijeta.\" tabindex=\"0\">mit<\/span> slavenske vegetacijske godine. Henryk \u0141owmia\u0144ski ju je 1979. godine s oprezom prihvatio, Aleksander Gieysztor bio je suzdr\u017eaniji. Bjelorusi, Ukrajinci, Rusi, Srbi, Bugari i Hrvati imaju svoje vlastite varijante ove prakse.<\/p><p>U Bjelorusiji se slamnata lutka \u00abPochorony Jarila\u00bb (Pokop Jarila) izravno povezuje s imenom boga; u Ukrajini se <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Predana radnja koja se redovito ponavlja u jednoj zajednici.\" tabindex=\"0\">obi\u010daj<\/span> \u010desto spaja s Kupalskim svetkovinama na Ivanjdan (24. lipnja), \u0161to ponovno pokazuje povezanost vegetacijskog i ljetnog solsticijskog <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Ukupnost religijskih obrednih radnji za neko bo\u017eanstvo ili svetu osobu.\" tabindex=\"0\">kulta<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Posebna varijanta jest \u00abKostromin\u00bb pokop u sredi\u0161njoruskoj tradiciji: slamnata lutka po imenu Kostroma nosi se selom, oplakuje se i spaljuje ili utapa. Kostroma je u nekim izvorima \u00absestra\u00bb Jarilova, u drugima samostalna figura. Ta umjetni\u010dka obrada trajno je ukorijenila Jarila u rusku visoku kulturu.<\/p>\n<p>U suvremenom pokretu rodnoverja i u op\u0107em slavenskom neopaganizmu Jarilo je jedno od sredi\u0161njih glavnih bo\u017eanstava. Njegov se blagdan slavi na po\u010detku prolje\u0107a (\u010desto 23. travnja, na Jurjevdan, ili u vrijeme ravnodnevnice) uz vegetacijske obrede, vatre i zajedni\u010dke obroke.<\/p><p>Ta obnova povijesno je nova konstrukcija, ali se izravno nadovezuje na pu\u010dku vjersku obrednu tradiciju koja je u slavenskim selja\u010dkim zajednicama bila \u017eiva jo\u0161 u 19.
