relixi\u00f3ns, Eshmun representa o tipo do deus sandador que morre e resucita estacionalmente. O seu perfil funcional \u00e9 claramente m\u00e1is restrinxido que o de <a href=\"https:\/\/iwell-guard.com\/gl\/baal-hadad-deus-meteorologico-fenicio\/\">Baal-Hadad<\/a>: Eshmun \u00e9 principalmente deus sandador e protector da cidade, menos deus do tempo atmosf\u00e9rico.<\/p><p>Esta especializaci\u00f3n na sandaci\u00f3n e nas funci\u00f3ns c\u00edvicas resulta pouco habitual no <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"O conxunto de deuses dunha relixi\u00f3n ou cultura.\" tabindex=\"0\">pante\u00f3n<\/span> fenicio e converte a Eshmun nunha figura teol\u00f3xica singular. Dentro da <a href=\"https:\/\/iwell-guard.com\/gl\/fenicios-cartago-baal-tanit\/\">tradici\u00f3n fenicia<\/a> \u00e9 o deus sandador protot\u00edpico.<\/p><p>Corinne Bonnet estudou en varios traballos a identificaci\u00f3n de Eshmun co Asclepio grego e as s\u00faas implicaci\u00f3ns teol\u00f3xicas. A identificaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 documentada literariamente desde o s\u00e9culo V a. C. e deu lugar a unha influencia mutua entre ambas as tradici\u00f3ns cultuais. Eshmunazar I, Eshmunazar II, Bod-Eshmun e varios outros reis sidonios levan o seu te\u00f3nimo no nome. Unha interpretaci\u00f3n plaus\u00edbel relaciona <em>\u02be\u0161mn<\/em> co n\u00famero &#8216;oito&#8217; (sem\u00edtico occidental <em>\u0161mn<\/em>); Eshmun ser\u00eda ent\u00f3n &#8216;o oitavo&#8217;, probablemente como oitavo fillo dunha familia divina ou como oitavo posto nunha lista de deuses.<\/p><p>Outra interpretaci\u00f3n ve en <em>\u02be\u0161mn<\/em> unha relaci\u00f3n coa palabra que significa &#8216;aceite&#8217; (<em>\u0161mn<\/em>); Eshmun ser\u00eda ent\u00f3n &#8216;o unxido&#8217; ou &#8216;o vinculado ao aceite&#8217;, o que casar\u00eda coa s\u00faa funci\u00f3n sandadora.<\/p><p>Nas inscrici\u00f3ns aparece como <em>\u02be\u0161mn<\/em>; nas fontes gregas como Eshmun (\u1f18\u03c3\u03bc\u03bf\u1fe6\u03bd ou \u1f08\u03c3\u03bc\u03bf\u03c5\u03bd\u03cc\u03c2). Damascio (s\u00e9culo VI d. C.) relata nas s\u00faas <em>Quaestiones Vitae<\/em> que Eshmun foi un mozo de Beirut que, por mal de amores, se quitou a vida nunha fonte e que, tras a s\u00faa morte, foi venerado como deus.<\/p><p>Este tard\u00edo &#8216;mito de heroe&#8217; resulta relevante desde o punto de vista da historia das relixi\u00f3ns, pois consolida a identificaci\u00f3n con Adonis e co tipo de heroe mortal-divino.<\/p><p>En acadio e en hitita, Eshmun non est\u00e1 identificado directamente. A identificaci\u00f3n grega con Asclepio \u00e9 a m\u00e1is importante; Pausanias e outros autores da <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"\u00c9poca da cultura grega e romana, aproximadamente do 800 a. C. ao 600 d. C.\" tabindex=\"0\">Antig\u00fcidade<\/span> dan testemu\u00f1a dela. C.<\/p><p>O <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Un lugar sagrado dedicado \u00e1 veneraci\u00f3n dunha divindade.\" tabindex=\"0\">santuario<\/span> \u00e9 notable porque ofrece unha rara ligaz\u00f3n directa entre <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Un ser venerado como divino dentro dunha relixi\u00f3n.\" tabindex=\"0\">divindade<\/span>, realeza e inscrici\u00f3n construtiva. Varias inscrici\u00f3ns de construci\u00f3n nomean a Bodashtart como fundador e a Eshmun como o deus ao que dedica o complexo.<\/p><p>Deste xeito, Eshmun non \u00e9 s\u00f3 un nome de listas de deuses, sen\u00f3n unha <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Un ser venerado como divino dentro dunha relixi\u00f3n.\" tabindex=\"0\">divindade<\/span> con unha gran construci\u00f3n datable e promovida pola monarqu\u00eda. A auga desempe\u00f1aba un papel central: canles, alxibes e captaci\u00f3ns de fontes percorren o complexo, o que concorda coa interpretaci\u00f3n curativa do deus.<\/p><p>Entre os achados m\u00e1is c\u00e9lebres figura o chamado &#8220;Trono de Astart\u00e9&#8221;, un trono divino baleiro que remite \u00e1 estreita relaci\u00f3n de Eshmun coa deusa titular de Sid\u00f3n, as\u00ed como unha serie de estatuas infant\u00eds interpretadas como ofrendas votivas, posiblemente relacionadas coa curaci\u00f3n ou a protecci\u00f3n. Esta <em>interpretatio graeca<\/em> est\u00e1 ben documentada, por exemplo no autor transmitido baixo o nome de Fil\u00f3n de Biblos, que refire tradici\u00f3ns fenicias en lingua grega, e explica por que Eshmun foi frecuentemente presentado na investigaci\u00f3n m\u00e1is antiga simplemente como o &#8220;Asclepio fenicio&#8221;.<\/p><p>Esta equiparaci\u00f3n resulta \u00fatil e ao mesmo tempo perigosa. \u00datil, porque confirma o car\u00e1cter curativo de Eshmun: a auga do santuario, as ofrendas de nenos e os relatos antigos sobre curaci\u00f3ns concordan cun deus ao que se acud\u00eda en caso de enfermidade.<\/p><p>Perigosa, porque induce a proxectar sobre Eshmun toda a imaxe grega de Asclepio, inclu\u00edda a iconograf\u00eda da serpe e a pr\u00e1ctica da incubaci\u00f3n, para as que non existen probas directas en todos os casos no rexistro fenicio.<\/p><p>Unha cuesti\u00f3n de investigaci\u00f3n \u00e1 parte \u00e9 a orixe do nome. Unha proposta habitual, a\u00ednda que non confirmada, relaci\u00f3nao coa palabra sem\u00edtica para &#8220;aceite&#8221; ou &#8220;\u00f3leo&#8221;, e polo tanto coa unci\u00f3n como remedio curativo; outras interpretaci\u00f3ns ven nel unha referencia num\u00e9rica (&#8220;o oitavo&#8221;). Ningunha destas etimolox\u00edas \u00e9 xeralmente aceptada. M\u00e1is segura que a etimolox\u00eda \u00e9 a observaci\u00f3n de que Eshmun ascendeu a divindade principal en Sid\u00f3n e aparece en inscrici\u00f3ns p\u00fanicas, por exemplo referidas a Cartago, xunto a <a href=\"https:\/\/iwell-guard.com\/gl\/baal-hammon-alto-deus-cartaxines\/\">Baal-Hammon<\/a>.
