Non son esp\u00edritos de mortos, sen\u00f3n que xorden de vellos obxectos inanimados, unha vasoira gastada, un c\u00e1ntaro roto, unha peza de roupa desfeita, ou de \u00e1rbores vellas. Neste sentido est\u00e1n emparentados cos <em>tsukumogami<\/em> xaponeses, a\u00ednda que te\u00f1en un perfil propio, entre trasno e heroico.<\/p><p>T\u00edpico do Dokkaebi \u00e9 o seu bast\u00f3n m\u00e1xico (<em>dokkaebi bangmangi<\/em>), co que pode cumprir desexos, facer aparecer ouro por maxia e volverse invisible. G\u00fastanlle a loita libre, as tortas de trigo mouro e o vinho de arroz.<\/p><div><h3>Samguk Yusa e as primeiras narraci\u00f3ns sobre Dokkaebi<\/h3><p>A historia dos esp\u00edritos coreanos foi marcada pola colecci\u00f3n <em>Samguk Yusa<\/em> (Historia transmitida dos Tres Reinos, s\u00e9culo XIII), cuxo autor Iryeon documentou as primeiras narraci\u00f3ns sobre Dokkaebi. O Samguk Yusa distingue entre esp\u00edritos ben\u00e9volos do fogar e perigosos esp\u00edritos do campo; os <em>Dokkaebi<\/em> pertencen a esta \u00faltima categor\u00eda.<\/p><p>Descr\u00edbense como seres cambiaformas, \u00e1 vez mal\u00e9volos e xoguet\u00f3ns e potencialmente destrutivos. Os textos xa mostran a caracter\u00edstica ic\u00f3nica do Dokkaebi de mudar de forma e a s\u00faa predilecci\u00f3n polo engano.<\/p><p>Unha narraci\u00f3n destacada describe un Dokkaebi que aparece de noite nunha estrada rural e seduce aos viaxeiros en vez de facerlles dano. Esta ambivalencia entre perturbaci\u00f3n humor\u00edstica e perigo real segue sendo constitutiva de todas as interpretaci\u00f3ns posteriores do Dokkaebi.
