Forman un enxame voador no ceo nocturno, pasan con gran estrondo e poden levar aos moribundos das s\u00faas camas.<\/p><p>Dise que penetran especialmente pola fiestra do oeste; por iso, en moitas rexi\u00f3ns costeiras do occidente de Escocia, o lado occidental da casa do moribundo permaneceu pechado e cuberto con cortinas at\u00e9 o s\u00e9culo XX.<\/p><p>Como figura colectiva dos mortos non redimidos, os Sluagh figuran xunto \u00e1 <a href=\"https:\/\/iwell-guard.com\/gl\/banshee\/\">Banshee<\/a> e o <a href=\"https:\/\/iwell-guard.com\/gl\/dullahan\/\">Dullahan<\/a> como expresi\u00f3n da relaci\u00f3n c\u00e9ltica coa morte: non un adversario individual, sen\u00f3n unha comunidade de non redimidos. A figura ten paralelos coa \u201eCazadora Salvaxe&#8221; xerm\u00e1nica, coas <a href=\"https:\/\/iwell-guard.com\/gl\/keres\/\">Keres<\/a> gregas e cos <a href=\"https:\/\/iwell-guard.com\/gl\/gallu\/\">Gallu<\/a> mesopot\u00e1micos. Na recepci\u00f3n fant\u00e1stica moderna, segue vixente.<\/p><div><p><strong>Tradici\u00f3n escocesa-irlandesa dos ex\u00e9rcitos de mortos<\/strong><\/p><p>O <em>Sluagh<\/em> (irland\u00e9s \u201emultitude&#8221; ou \u201eex\u00e9rcito&#8221;) aparece nas tradici\u00f3ns escocesas e irlandesas como unha multitude de mortos que percorren a paisaxe pola noite. No ga\u00e9lico escoc\u00e9s, o ser a mi\u00fado recibe o nome de <em>sluagh s\u00eddhe<\/em> (ex\u00e9rcito dos outeiros das fadas) ou <em>sluagh gaoithe<\/em> (ex\u00e9rcito do vento).<\/p><p>Isto suxire unha ambivalencia: os Sluagh poder\u00edan estar formados ben por fadas ca\u00eddas, ben por almas humanas inquietas; as fontes non o aclaran de forma inequ\u00edvoca.<\/p><p>John Gregorson Campbell, un folclorista escoc\u00e9s do s\u00e9culo XIX, documentou nas s\u00faas colecci\u00f3ns os Sluagh como unha aparici\u00f3n nocturna, ante a cal hab\u00eda que manter as fiestras pechadas para que o ex\u00e9rcito non entrase na casa. Quen permanec\u00eda de noite ao aire libre, sobre todo persoas debilitadas, moribundas ou descoidadas, corr\u00eda o risco de ser capturado pola hoste e levado con ela.<\/p><p>Nalg\u00fans relatos, o <em>sluagh<\/em> chega a obrigar \u00e1 persoa capturada a participar nas s\u00faas faza\u00f1as malignas, por exemplo, disparando unha flecha contra o gando ou contra outras persoas.
