En tant que d\u00e9mon des profondeurs, il r\u00f4de dans les eaux profondes, saisit les baigneurs par le bas et attire les enfants dans les eaux boueuses ; il incarne le c\u00f4t\u00e9 hostile et mortel de l&rsquo;\u00e9tendue d&rsquo;eau.<\/p>\n<p>Le Hiisi \u00e9tait \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine un esprit des for\u00eats de collines et des bois sacr\u00e9s. Ce n&rsquo;est que la tradition ult\u00e9rieure, influenc\u00e9e par le christianisme, qui l&rsquo;a de plus en plus interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 comme d\u00e9moniaque et diabolique, et dans les formules magiques, on distinguait les Hiisi des for\u00eats, de l&rsquo;eau, des montagnes et de la terre comme des figures propres.
