En tant qu&rsquo;instrument de l&rsquo;hostile Louhi, il incarne les profondeurs marines chaotiques et hostiles, \u00e0 l&rsquo;oppos\u00e9 des bienveillants dieux de l&rsquo;eau Ahti et Vellamo.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e9j\u00e0 en 1551, Mikael Agricola mentionne un dieu de la guerre, Turisas, qui accordait la victoire \u00e0 la guerre; la recherche suppose qu&rsquo;un g\u00e9ant primordial et guerrier s&rsquo;est fondu avec le d\u00e9mon marin malveillant Meri-Tursas. Du nom tursas d\u00e9rive \u00e9galement le symbole tress\u00e9 nord-europ\u00e9en tursaansyd\u00e4n, le c\u0153ur du Tursas, un symbole de chance pr\u00e9chr\u00e9tien.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Effet<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Iku-Turso est destructeur : il provoque des incendies, d\u00e9clenche avec le ch\u00eane g\u00e9ant l&rsquo;obscurcissement du monde, et est envoy\u00e9 comme arme de guerre par Louhi contre les h\u00e9ros du Kalevala. En tant que dieu de la guerre Turisas, il \u00e9tait inversement consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme donneur de victoire, mais en tant que d\u00e9mon marin comme une menace pour les marins. Dans une tradition, il est m\u00eame consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le p\u00e8re des maladies, issues de son union avec
