En tant que ma\u00eetre de la baie, il est \u00e0 la fois craint et v\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 : il peut engloutir des barques, mais on l&rsquo;invoque aussi pour obtenir la gu\u00e9rison.<\/p>\n<p>Le nom at-kor-kamuy est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 comme \u00ab le dieu qui tient des fils \u00bb, les fils renvoyant aux tentacules. La premi\u00e8re fixation \u00e9crite provient du missionnaire John Batchelor, vers 1900, dont la version rapporte trois p\u00eacheurs attaqu\u00e9s par une pieuvre
