Parce que leur mort lors de l&rsquo;accouchement \u00e9tait comprise comme une mort au combat, leurs \u00e2mes gagnaient une r\u00e9gion solaire honorable \u00e0 l&rsquo;ouest, o\u00f9 elles escortaient le soleil du z\u00e9nith jusqu&rsquo;au coucher.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 des jours pr\u00e9cis du calendrier, elles revenaient cependant sur terre comme dangereux esprits de croisement. Elles descendaient aux croisements de chemins, frappaient les enfants de paralysie, de convulsions et de maladie, et s\u00e9duisaient les hommes vers l&rsquo;adult\u00e8re ou les rendaient fous.
