Ils apparaissent tant\u00f4t en couple, tant\u00f4t comme deux noms d&rsquo;un m\u00eame principe du vent, et sont v\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s pour de bonnes r\u00e9coltes et la protection contre les temp\u00eates, notamment aux sanctuaires du vent d&rsquo;Ise.<\/p>\n<p>Ils sont attest\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re canonique dans le Kojiki de 712 comme enfant d&rsquo;Izanagi et Izanami, et dans le Nihon Shoki de 720, o\u00f9 le dieu du vent na\u00eet du souffle d&rsquo;Izanagi, qui chasse la brume du matin.
