Ni les collecteurs de l\u00e9gendes ni les naturalistes n&rsquo;ont jamais r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 capturer un animal vivant, mais des taxidermistes ont, d\u00e8s le XIXe si\u00e8cle, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des sp\u00e9cimens naturalis\u00e9s pour les auberges et les touristes.<\/p>\n<p>Contrairement \u00e0 de nombreux \u00eatres alpins, le Wolpertinger n&rsquo;a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u comme une menace r\u00e9elle, mais comme une farce entre habitants et \u00e9trangers. Des variantes de noms telles que Woipertinger, Raurackl ou Oibadrischl montrent la diffusion r\u00e9gionale de la figure au-del\u00e0 de la
