for\u00eat, de l&rsquo;eau, du cheval, du b\u0153uf), monde inf\u00e9rieur (<em>abasy<\/em>).<\/p><p>Yhych-Khan appartient \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re couche et est sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans le cheval, \u00eatre vivant central de l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie et de l&rsquo;identit\u00e9 iakoutes. Parmi les autres grandes figures de cette premi\u00e8re couche figurent <a href=\"\/fr\/ajisit\/\">Ajisit<\/a>, <em>\u00dcr\u00fcn Aar Tojon<\/em> et le donneur de bovins <em>Ynakhsyt<\/em>.<\/p><p>Au sein de la <a href=\"\/fr\/chamanisme-siberien\/\">tradition sib\u00e9rienne-tengriste<\/a>, Yhych-Khan constitue un exemple instructif de la mani\u00e8re dont la fonction de dieu supr\u00eame cosmique se subdivise en sp\u00e9cialisations li\u00e9es aux animaux. Cette sp\u00e9cialisation suit la logique \u00e9conomique de l&rsquo;\u00e9levage iakoute du cheval dans des conditions subarctiques extr\u00eamement froides.<\/p><p>La race chevaline iakoute Sacha (<em>tabuun<\/em>) est une adaptation extraordinaire au froid \u2013 elle survit \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 moins 60 degr\u00e9s \u2013 et constitue, tant sur le plan religieux qu&rsquo;\u00e9conomique, l&rsquo;\u00e9pine dorsale de la tradition. Yhych-Khan signifie donc litt\u00e9ralement le \u00ab seigneur du koumis \u00bb. L&rsquo;\u00e9tymologie l&rsquo;ancre directement dans le complexe festif iakoute du Ysyakh, dont l&rsquo;acte central est de boire et d&rsquo;offrir du <em>koumis<\/em>.<\/p><p>Dans les textes ethnographiques plus anciens, on trouve \u00e9galement la variante <em>Yhyaqtaaq<\/em>, \u00ab celui qui d\u00e9tient le droit de la f\u00eate du koumis \u00bb, qui relie le nom \u00e0 la f\u00eate du Ysyakh. Cette forme nominale est linguistiquement instructive, car elle atteste l&rsquo;indissociabilit\u00e9 de la <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Un \u00eatre v\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 comme divin au sein d'une religion.\" tabindex=\"0\">divinit\u00e9<\/span> et de la forme festive.<\/p><p>La langue iakoute appartient \u00e0 la famille des langues turques, et le nom s&rsquo;int\u00e8gre bien dans le vocabulaire religieux pan-turcique ; on peut le comparer \u00e0 la formation d&rsquo;autres noms de dieux supr\u00eames li\u00e9s aux animaux, comme l&rsquo;alta\u00efque <em>Tabyt-Khan<\/em> (seigneur du cheval) ou certaines divinit\u00e9s sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es kazakhes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-iwgw-yhychkhan-s2 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"iwgw-yhychkhan-s2\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-iwgw-yhychkhan-s2h elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"iwgw-yhychkhan-s2h\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Description et iconographie<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-iwgw-yhychkhan-s2c e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"iwgw-yhychkhan-s2c\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-iwgw-yhychkhan-s2t elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"iwgw-yhychkhan-s2t\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Yhych-Khan est d\u00e9crit comme un homme m\u00fbr \u00e0 longue barbe gris clair, mont\u00e9 sur un \u00e9talon blanc comme le lait, tenant en main une grande louche en bois de bouleau. Son manteau est brod\u00e9 de symboles \u00e9questres ; sur les pieux rituels (<em>serge<\/em>) du Ysyakh, il est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re stylis\u00e9e comme un cavalier tenant une coupe lev\u00e9e.<\/p><p>Les pieux <em>serge<\/em> constituent l&rsquo;un des mat\u00e9riaux les plus importants de l&rsquo;anthropologie religieuse de la culture iakoute. Ils sont dress\u00e9s devant chaque yourte et sur l&rsquo;esplanade des f\u00eates, et leurs sculptures peuvent contenir des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences cosmologiques tr\u00e8s complexes \u2013 Yhych-Khan y appara\u00eet souvent \u00e0 la troisi\u00e8me place, apr\u00e8s les dieux sup\u00e9rieurs et Ajisit.<\/p><p>Dans les collections du Mus\u00e9e national de la R\u00e9publique Sakha \u00e0 Iakoutsk, plusieurs pieux <em>serge<\/em> historiques sont expos\u00e9s ; ils t\u00e9moignent de la stabilit\u00e9 iconographique de la tradition sur environ 200 ans.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-iwgw-yhychkhan-s3 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"iwgw-yhychkhan-s3\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-iwgw-yhychkhan-s3h elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"iwgw-yhychkhan-s3h\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">R\u00e9cits mythologiques<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-iwgw-yhychkhan-s3c e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"iwgw-yhychkhan-s3c\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-iwgw-yhychkhan-s3t elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"iwgw-yhychkhan-s3t\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Dans le corpus de l&rsquo;Olonkho, Yhych-Khan appara\u00eet comme le messager qu&rsquo;<em>\u00dcr\u00fcn Aar Tojon<\/em> envoie, dans le r\u00e9cit de la cr\u00e9ation, avec pour mission d&rsquo;apporter des chevaux aux premiers hommes. Sans chevaux, dit le r\u00e9cit, la vie dans la toundra iakoute est impossible ; Yhych-Khan comble ce manque.<\/p><p>Un second r\u00e9cit d\u00e9crit comment, apr\u00e8s une famine, il rend les juments si laiteuses que les hommes peuvent fabriquer du koumis pour la premi\u00e8re fois, ce qui conduit \u00e0 l&rsquo;institution du Ysyakh comme f\u00eate annuelle d&rsquo;action de gr\u00e2ce.<\/p><p>Un troisi\u00e8me r\u00e9cit rapporte le conflit de Yhych-Khan avec un \u00eatre malfaisant <em>abasy<\/em> des enfers qui veut maudire les troupeaux de chevaux ; Yhych-Khan le chasse avec une louche remplie de lait qui se transforme en pointe de lance. Alekseev (<em>Traditionnaja religia jakutov<\/em>, 1980).<\/p><p>Les \u00e9tudes de Marjorie Balzer sont ici particuli\u00e8rement pr\u00e9cieuses, car elles documentent le r\u00e9tablissement du culte de Yhych-Khan apr\u00e8s 1991 en tant que processus anthropologique. Elle montre comment l&rsquo;affirmation identitaire ethnique des Sacha a \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9e par la revitalisation de cette f\u00eate.<\/p><p>Un r\u00f4le particulier dans la recherche contemporaine revient aux chercheurs iakoutes eux-m\u00eames, comme Andrej P. Les d\u00e9couvertes arch\u00e9ologiques dans les plus anciennes implantations Sacha (vall\u00e9e de Tujmaada) montrent des s\u00e9pultures de chevaux dont l&rsquo;interpr\u00e9tation religieuse demeure incertaine.<\/p><p>Deuxi\u00e8mement : quel r\u00f4le joue Yhych-Khan dans le mouvement n\u00e9o-tengriste des ann\u00e9es 2000 ? Il n&rsquo;appartient pas aux grandes divinit\u00e9s cr\u00e9atrices du monde sup\u00e9rieur, mais incarne une force naturelle existentiellement mena\u00e7ante pour la vie dans le Nord.<\/p><p>Le froid hivernal iakoute atteint dans la r\u00e9gion de Verkhoyansk et d&rsquo;O\u00efmiakon des valeurs qui comptent parmi les plus basses des zones habit\u00e9es de la plan\u00e8te. Une figure religieuse qui personnifie ce gel n&rsquo;est donc pas un jeu po\u00e9tique, mais l&rsquo;expression d&rsquo;une menace permanente.<\/p><p>Un motif r\u00e9current dans les traditions relatives au seigneur du gel est le taureau de l&rsquo;hiver. Cette conception, que l&rsquo;on rencontre dans plusieurs relev\u00e9s sib\u00e9riens, repr\u00e9sente l&rsquo;hiver comme un gigantesque animal taurin qui \u00e9merge de la mer septentrionale \u00e0 la fin de l&rsquo;automne et, avec chaque mois qui avance, cro\u00eet d&rsquo;abord, puis perd membre apr\u00e8s membre au printemps.<\/p><p>D&rsquo;abord tombe une corne, puis la seconde, enfin la t\u00eate, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que l&rsquo;animal disparaisse enti\u00e8rement avec la d\u00e9b\u00e2cle des glaces. Le gel n&rsquo;est pas ici un \u00e9tat, mais un \u00eatre dot\u00e9 d&rsquo;un cycle de vie, et la rigueur du froid est li\u00e9e aux parties du corps de cet animal.<\/p><p>Que le seigneur du gel et le taureau de l&rsquo;hiver aient \u00e9t\u00e9 identiques dans la <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"La transmission du savoir et des r\u00e9cits d'une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 l'autre.\" tabindex=\"0\">tradition<\/span> originelle, ou deux conceptions distinctes qui ne se sont fusionn\u00e9es que tardivement, ne peut \u00eatre tranch\u00e9 avec certitude \u00e0 partir des sources.<\/p><p>Les relev\u00e9s du XIX<sup>e<\/sup> et du d\u00e9but du XX<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle sont ici peu homog\u00e8nes, et certains ethnographes ont compris le taureau davantage comme un calendrier m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique que comme une <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Un \u00eatre v\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 comme divin au sein d'une religion.\" tabindex=\"0\">divinit\u00e9<\/span>. Ce qui est certain, c&rsquo;est que les deux conceptions r\u00e9pondent au m\u00eame besoin : traduire le froid impr\u00e9visible et meurtrier en une figure saisissable et observable.<\/p><p>Il est notable que le seigneur du gel, contrairement \u00e0 certains esprits de maladie, ne faisait pas l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;un culte de supplication \u00e9labor\u00e9. On ne pouvait pas n\u00e9gocier avec l&rsquo;hiver, seulement le traverser.<\/p><p>L&rsquo;attention rituelle se portait donc moins sur l&rsquo;apaisement que sur la transition \u2013 c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire sur les f\u00eates printani\u00e8res accueillant la fin du r\u00e8gne du taureau.
