<em>Yhi-Karraur<\/em>, <em>Yhi-Bahloo-prima<\/em>) es la diosa solar en una serie de grupos ling\u00fc\u00edsticos abor\u00edgenes del sureste de Australia, especialmente entre los Karraur, en cuya tradici\u00f3n sus relatos est\u00e1n documentados con mayor densidad. Est\u00e1 emparejada con el dios lunar Bahloo y vinculada con el dios supremo <a href=\"\/es\/baiame\/\">Baiame<\/a> en una familia c\u00f3smica.<\/p><p>Desde el punto de vista de la fenomenolog\u00eda religiosa, Yhi resulta especialmente interesante porque es uno de los pocos seres supremos expl\u00edcitamente femeninos de las religiones abor\u00edgenes de Australia. En la mayor\u00eda de las tradiciones abor\u00edgenes, las figuras religiosas m\u00e1s elevadas son masculinas (\u00abAll-Fathers\u00bb); Yhi constituye aqu\u00ed una excepci\u00f3n destacada.<\/p><p>Dentro de la <a href=\"\/es\/aboriginal\/\">tradici\u00f3n aborigen<\/a> desempe\u00f1a una funci\u00f3n cosmog\u00f3nica: despierta la vida con su primer amanecer. La etimolog\u00eda exacta es discutida; una derivaci\u00f3n tradicional relaciona la palabra con el significado de \u00abresplandor, luz\u00bb, lo que concuerda con su funci\u00f3n solar.<\/p><p>K. Langloh Parker, que document\u00f3 la tradici\u00f3n Karraur a finales del siglo XIX, estandariz\u00f3 el nombre en <em>Australian Legendary Tales<\/em> (1896) y <em>More Australian Legendary Tales<\/em> (1898) como <em>Yhi<\/em>. Su graf\u00eda se ha impuesto.<\/p><p>En algunas lenguas vecinas, el sol recibe otro nombre: <em>Wuriupranili<\/em> en la tradici\u00f3n Tiwi (un sol femenino que recorre el cielo con una antorcha), <em>Walu<\/em> en la tradici\u00f3n Yolngu. Donde posaba el pie brotaban plantas, \u00e1rboles y flores; donde exhalaba su aliento surg\u00edan animales; donde se deten\u00eda por \u00faltima vez, nac\u00edan los primeros seres humanos.<\/p><p>A diferencia de muchas otras tradiciones abor\u00edgenes, no existe una iconograf\u00eda independiente de Yhi. Las pocas representaciones visuales del siglo XIX fueron encargadas en su mayor\u00eda a ilustradores europeos (por ejemplo para los libros de Parker) y reflejan m\u00e1s las tradiciones pict\u00f3ricas europeas que las abor\u00edgenes.<\/p><p>Artistas abor\u00edgenes contempor\u00e1neos han retomado el relato de Yhi y tratan de desarrollar una forma visual ind\u00edgena. A un silbido (en algunas versiones proveniente de <a href=\"\/es\/baiame\/\">Baiame<\/a>) despert\u00f3 y ascendi\u00f3.<\/p><p>Con su primer amanecer despert\u00f3 la vida: los \u00e1rboles brotaron, las flores se abrieron, los animales salieron de sus refugios y los primeros seres humanos se levantaron del suelo.<\/p><p>Un segundo relato describe el amor de Yhi hacia el dios lunar Bahloo. Sin embargo, Bahloo es t\u00edmido y se retira una y otra vez; por eso Yhi lo sigue durante el d\u00eda y Bahloo solo se muestra de noche.
