figura especialmente bien documentada de la religi\u00f3n mongola tard\u00eda.<\/p><p>Constituye un pilar de enlace entre tres estratos: el Ahura Mazda irano-iranio (Pahlavi <em>Hormizd<\/em>), el Indra budista (s\u00e1nscrito <em>\u015aakra Dev\u0101n\u0101\u1e43 Indra<\/em>) y el <a href=\"\/es\/tengri\/\">Tengri<\/a> t\u00farco-mongol antiguo. En la literatura narrativa de la Historia Secreta y en los textos \u00e9picos posteriores (epopeya de Geser Khan) aparece como \u00abpadre de los 33 dioses del Oeste\u00bb y \u00e1rbitro de los conflictos celestiales.<\/p><p>Dentro de la <a href=\"\/es\/sibirisch-tengrismus\/\">tradici\u00f3n siberiano-tengrista<\/a> marca la transici\u00f3n del Tengri informe hacia el mundo divino budista personalizado. Desde el punto de vista de la historia de las religiones, constituye una lecci\u00f3n ejemplar sobre el funcionamiento del <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Fusi\u00f3n de concepciones o deidades procedentes de distintas tradiciones religiosas.\" tabindex=\"0\">sincretismo<\/span>.<\/p><p><span data-nosnippet>La bibliograf\u00eda especializada sobre Khormusta es, en comparaci\u00f3n con la de muchas otras figuras Tengri, inusualmente densa. <em>Die Religionen der Mongolei<\/em> (1970) de Walther Heissig es aqu\u00ed tan indispensable como las obras de Klaus Sagaster y Christopher Atwood. La transmisi\u00f3n tuvo lugar presumiblemente entre los siglos VII y IX a trav\u00e9s de las rutas comerciales sogdianas hacia el Asia interior.<\/p><p>En el \u00e1mbito ling\u00fc\u00edstico mongol, el nombre recibe el sufijo Tengri (<em>Qormusta Tngri<\/em>), con lo cual el dios supremo iranio queda integrado en el sistema celeste mongol, un ejemplo cl\u00e1sico de <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Fusi\u00f3n de concepciones o deidades procedentes de distintas tradiciones religiosas.\" tabindex=\"0\">sincretismo<\/span>.<\/p><p><span data-nosnippet>La historia ling\u00fc\u00edstica y religiosa exacta es compleja: los maniqueos y zoro\u00e1stricos sogdianos en las ciudades oasis del Asia interior (Turf\u00e1n, Khotan, Samarcanda) fueron probablemente los intermediarios. Hans-Joachim Klimkeit reconstruy\u00f3 detalladamente estas rutas de mediaci\u00f3n en <em>Die Seidenstra\u00dfe<\/em> (1988).<\/span><\/p><p>En las traducciones tibetanas, Khormusta aparece como <em>brGya-byin<\/em> o como <em>dBang-po brGya-byin<\/em>, lo que reproduce el \u015aakra Dev\u0101n\u0101\u1e43 Indra indio, \u00abIndra, el de los mil nombres\u00bb. Cabalga sobre el elefante tric\u00e9falo Airavata, lo que lo identifica iconogr\u00e1ficamente de manera definitiva con el Indra budista.<\/p><p>En los estratos mongoles prebudistas, en la medida en que pueden reconstruirse, su representaci\u00f3n era menos fija; aparec\u00eda m\u00e1s bien como \u00abrey entre los 99 Tengri\u00bb en la <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"La transmisi\u00f3n de conocimientos y relatos a trav\u00e9s de las generaciones.\" tabindex=\"0\">tradici\u00f3n<\/span> oral que en tipos iconogr\u00e1ficos establecidos. Por medio de los textos maniqueos y budistas del Asia central, la denominaci\u00f3n lleg\u00f3 al mundo turco-mongol, donde se adhiri\u00f3 a una concepci\u00f3n ya existente del se\u00f1or supremo del cielo.<\/p><p>En la literatura budista de Mongolia, Khormusta se fusiona con Indra, el rey de los dioses del pante\u00f3n indio, que aparece all\u00ed como se\u00f1or del cielo <em>Trayastrimsha<\/em> y protector de la doctrina.<\/p><p>De este modo, una <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Un ser venerado como divino dentro de una religi\u00f3n.\" tabindex=\"0\">deidad<\/span> aut\u00f3noma se convirti\u00f3 en un pr\u00edncipe de los dioses integrado en el modelo c\u00f3smico budista que, si bien ocupa un lugar elevado, permanece subordinado al Buda y a los Bodhisattvas. Esta clasificaci\u00f3n no es un efecto secundario, sino que fue deliberada desde el punto de vista pol\u00edtico-religioso: la difusi\u00f3n del budismo tibetano desde el siglo XVI exig\u00eda no desplazar a las antiguas deidades celestes, sino subordinarlas jer\u00e1rquicamente.<\/p><p>Desde el punto de vista de la cr\u00edtica de fuentes, es importante subrayar que casi todos los testimonios escritos sobre Khormusta proceden de contextos de impronta budista, como las invocaciones de la epopeya de Geser o los manuscritos rituales.
