El primero es el descenso de Inanna al inframundo: Inanna llega ante Ereshkigal, es asesinada y posteriormente devuelta a la vida mediante los intermediarios de Ea. Su esposo Dumuzi debe descender al inframundo como expiaci\u00f3n. El segundo mito es Nergal y Ereshkigal: Nergal llega al inframundo, primero es maldecido por ella y luego se convierte en su esposo. Su nombre significa aproximadamente &#8216;se\u00f1ora de la gran tierra&#8217; o &#8216;se\u00f1ora del gran abajo&#8217;, siendo &#8216;la gran tierra&#8217; una per\u00edfrasis del inframundo.<\/p><p>Reside en un palacio de nombres como Ganzir, custodiado por siete puertas y su visir Namtar, portador del destino y la peste. A su lado se encuentran los Anunna como instancia judicial.<\/p><p>Caracter\u00edstica de la concepci\u00f3n mesopot\u00e1mica es la rigidez de las leyes del inframundo. Quien desciende queda sometido a la norma de que solo un sustituto permite la huida. Incluso los dioses est\u00e1n sujetos a estas leyes, como muestra el destino de Inanna.
