She is the lover of several heroes (Dagda, Lugh, C\u00fa Chulainn) and brings them <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"The pronouncement of well-being and protection, often in fixed verbal form.\" tabindex=\"0\">blessing<\/span> or ruin.<\/p><p>In the Cath Maige Tuired she proclaims the outcome of the battle. She is sometimes transmitted as a triad (M\u00f3r-R\u00edghan, Macha, Badb) and sometimes as a single figure. Modern scholarship (Maier, Mac Cana, Green) debates whether Morrigan is an original goddess or a <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"The merging of ideas or deities from different religious traditions.\" tabindex=\"0\">syncretism<\/span> of several figures. The Celts preserved this entity or concept over extraordinarily long periods and carefully passed it on from generation to generation, which points to central religious and cultural significance.<\/p><p>The continuity of the <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"The passing on of knowledge and narratives across generations.\" tabindex=\"0\">transmission<\/span> across these long spans of time is remarkable and shows a deep, stable cultural rootedness. Place names such as D\u00e1 Ch\u00edch na Morrigna, the hills in the plain of Meath known as the Breasts of the Morr\u00edgan, show that the goddess was also located in the landscape.
