The treasure vase is the third of the eight signs. It is depicted as a rounded vessel, often adorned and fitted with a cloth or a plant.<\/p>

The vase is regarded as a container that never becomes empty. It stands for abundance, for long life and for the inexhaustible gifts of the teaching. However much one takes from it, it remains full.<\/p>

The lotus is the fourth sign. The lotus flower grows up out of the mud of the pond floor and unfolds its pure blossom above the water.<\/p>

From this growth the meaning of the lotus arises. It stands for the purity that emerges from an impure ground, and thus for the path from entanglement to insight.<\/p>

The coiled conch shell is the fifth sign. A conch shell coiled to the right was considered especially rare and precious and was used as a wind instrument.<\/p>
