He first appears in the Book of Tobit (3rd century BC) as an enemy of love, who kills seven of Sarah&#8217;s bridegrooms until the <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"In the Abrahamic religions, a heavenly messenger being of God.\" tabindex=\"0\">angel<\/span> Raphael drives him away.<\/p><p>In the <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"The principal work of rabbinic Judaism, with interpretation of the religious tradition.\" tabindex=\"0\">Talmud<\/span> he appears as a cunning ruler of the demons, who even takes Solomon&#8217;s throne.
