The Protection Compass is the part of iWell Guard that links the encyclopedia of beings with the knowledge of protection. For every being described here, it holds two things ready: a classification of how strongly its influence can reach according to tradition<\/span>, and the means of protection that various cultures have set against it.<\/p>

What makes it special is the cross-cultural view. Over thousands of years, people in Mesopotamia, in the Germanic north, in Egypt, in East Asia and everywhere else developed protective signs, protective objects and protective rituals, entirely independently of one another, and yet with remarkably similar underlying ideas.<\/p>

The Protection Compass places these scattered traditions side by side. It adds nothing of its own. It orders what the sources and the cosmic information field record<\/span> about a being.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Protection Compass can be filtered by four criteria: by culture, by class of being, by Influence Level and by means of protection.<\/p>

You can start from a being you have encountered or that occupies your thoughts, and see which level is assigned to it and which means of protection tradition<\/span> knows.<\/p>

Conversely, you can start from a means of protection, such as salt or a protective rune<\/span>, and read up on which kinds of beings it was used against. And you can simply browse by Influence Level to get a sense of how tradition<\/span> orders the range.<\/p>
