of the Mongo-Nkundo in the central Congo Basin. The Biloko are regarded as spirits of the dead of the rainforest and as guardians of the living forest, its game and its rare fruits, and they harbour a grudge against the living.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone walking alone through the forest is their prey: they ring a bell to lure and bewitch people; whoever answers is lost.
