Hi-no-Kagutsuchi or Homusubi, is the fire god of Shinto. At his birth he fatally burned his mother Izanami, whereupon his father Izanagi slew him; from his blood and his limbs further deities emerged.<\/p>\n<p>The main sources are the chronicles Kojiki and Nihongi from the 8th century.
