It is cryptozoologically related to the Yeti; three levels must be kept separate: folklore, cryptozoology, and the distinction from the other figure, Albasty.<\/p>\n<p>In folklore, the Almas is usually a shy forest dweller, occasionally linked to theft or attacks; it is ambivalent, not a systematic enemy of humans. There is no cult, and as a cryptid it has no real existence: Almas is a purely legendary and narrative figure.
