As the greatest of all Tengu, legend holds that he secretly trained the young Minamoto no Yoshitsune in swordsmanship and strategy.<\/p>\n<p>S\u014dj\u014db\u014d belongs not to the Kojiki or Shinto, but to the Buddhist-influenced tradition of the Tengu as fallen, arrogant monks.
