El nom remet a un doble significat: l&#8217;efecte que se li atribueix d&#8217;alegrar l&#8217;esperit i el seu paper com a herba protectora que havia d&#8217;allunyar la pena i les influ\u00e8ncies nocives.<\/p><p>Una dita encara coneguda avui resumeix la funci\u00f3 protectora del dost en una f\u00f3rmula fixa: \u00abBaldrian, Dost und Dill, kann die Hex&#8217; nicht, wie sie will\u00bb (valeriana, dost i anet, la bruixa no pot fer el que vol). D&#8217;aquest efecte refor\u00e7ant va sorgir la idea que un esperit enfortit pel dost tamb\u00e9 seria menys vulnerable al malefici.<\/p><p>Com a sobrenom fugida del diable, es diu que el mateix diable evitaria la planta; com a herba de la n\u00favia, el dost s&#8217;entrella\u00e7ava en les corones nupcials per protegir la n\u00favia el dia del casament, un moment de transici\u00f3 considerat en la tradici\u00f3 especialment vulnerable, contra les forces malignes. A l&#8217;edat mitjana es posaven flors seques de dost sota el nas per allunyar influ\u00e8ncies nocives, un costum que evidencia la proximitat del dost a les <a href=\"https:\/\/iwell-guard.com\/ca\/?page_id=172587\">herbes contra el mal d&#8217;ull i l&#8217;enveja<\/a>, entre les quals tamb\u00e9 es compta.<\/p><p>La dita \u00abBaldrian, Dost und Dill, kann die Hex&#8217; nicht, wie sie will\u00bb uneix tres herbes a les quals conjuntament s&#8217;atribu\u00efa una for\u00e7a especialment fiable contra la bruixeria. Com a herba de la n\u00favia, protegeix espec\u00edficament la n\u00favia el dia del casament dels sortilegis danyosos.<\/p><p>Junt amb la valeriana i l&#8217;anet, el dost forma segons la dita transmesa un trio contra les obres de la bruixa. Per al casament, es entrella\u00e7aven branquetes de dost a la corona nupcial o al vestit de n\u00favia.<\/p><p>Com passa amb la majoria de les herbes contra el mal d&#8217;ull i l&#8217;enveja, aqu\u00ed tamb\u00e9 val: el dost no s&#8217;entenia com un remei a\u00efllat, sin\u00f3 que s&#8217;aplicava en combinaci\u00f3 amb la valeriana, l&#8217;anet i altres pr\u00e0ctiques protectores.
