A difer\u00e8ncia de les divinitats dels morts, neutrals, les divinitats protectores tenen lleialtats i prefer\u00e8ncies expl\u00edcites. Algunes s\u00f3n primordials, d&#8217;altres van n\u00e9ixer de la veneraci\u00f3 humana.<\/p><div><p><strong>Profunditat en la hist\u00f2ria de les religions de les divinitats protectores<\/strong><\/p><p>La classe de les divinitats protectores \u00e9s un dels camps m\u00e9s antics de la veneraci\u00f3 funcionalment especialitzada dels d\u00e9us. Les evid\u00e8ncies m\u00e9s antigues provenen de Mesopot\u00e0mia: Ninurta com a d\u00e9u protector de Nippur, Marduk com a d\u00e9u protector de Babil\u00f2nia, Asshur com a d\u00e9u protector d&#8217;Ass\u00edria.<\/p><p>La figura del d\u00e9u protector de la ciutat (en grec poliuchos) apareix en totes les altes cultures amb una cultura urbana organitzada, des d&#8217;Atena com a deessa protectora d&#8217;Atenes, passant per Quir\u00ed, Mart i J\u00fapiter a Roma, fins a Inari com a d\u00e9u protector de l&#8217;arr\u00f2s japon\u00e8s.<\/p><p>Des del punt de vista de la fenomenologia religiosa, les divinitats protectores es diferencien de les altes divinitats per la seva especificitat funcional: no s&#8217;ocupen de la creaci\u00f3 del m\u00f3n ni de l&#8217;equilibri c\u00f2smic, sin\u00f3 d&#8217;un \u00e0mbit concret que cal protegir.<\/p><p><span data-nosnippet>Aquest \u00e0mbit pot ser una ciutat, un ofici, una etapa de la vida, un grup de persones o una activitat. La Cailleach escocesa \u00e9s una antiga deessa o figura espiritual que vetlla pels ramats, l&#8217;hivern i els paisatges de muntanya, temible per\u00f2 necess\u00e0ria.<\/p><p>La Vesta romana protegeix el foc de la llar i l&#8217;ordre p\u00fablic; les vestals eren les seves sacerdotesses. El Ganesha hind\u00fa \u00e9s protector dels inicis i vencedor dels obstacles; qualsevol empresa important comen\u00e7a amb la seva veneraci\u00f3.<\/p><div><p><strong>Exemples d&#8217;altres cultures<\/strong><\/p><p>La tradici\u00f3 jueva no coneix un concepte de d\u00e9u protector desenvolupat en sentit politeista, per\u00f2 s\u00ed l&#8217;equivalent funcional dels <span class=\"iwg-fachbegriff\" data-tooltip=\"Un \u00e0ngel a qui s'atribueix la protecci\u00f3 d'una persona individual.\" tabindex=\"0\">\u00e0ngels protectors<\/span> (malakhe ha-sharet), assignats a persones, llocs o tasques concretes.
